KISORO: A UPDF officer was pronounced dead on arrival at Mutolere hospital in Kisoro District after he failed to negotiate corner riding his Motor cycle along Kisoro-Chanika Road and veered off the road thus sustaining injuries.
The deceased was identified as Ra/059053 Wo1 Kamugisha Ramazan 49 a soldier attached to Nyakabande 35 Battalion barracks in Kisoro district.
It’s alleged that Yesterday at around 08:30 PM the officer now the deceased was travelling back to Nyakabande barracks from Kisoro town riding his motorcycle UEJ271X TVS and on reaching Busamba village he failed to negotiate a corner and fell on the road thus sustaining head and chest injuries.
The victim was rushed to Kisoro hospital by Good Samaritan and later referred to Mutolere hospital where he died upon arrival.
According to the Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate the Police officers visited the Scene, drew a sketch map and did a Postmortem on the Deceased from Mutolere hospital.
Maate added that the Motorcycle was toured and is parked at Kisoro Central Police Station pending inspection by IOV as a Single Fatal Road Accident also registered on TAR 33/2024 as the Inquiries continues.
